Formulation Architecture for Liquid Cleaning Systems
Performance in a liquid cleaning product emerges from the interaction of the entire system.
Surfactant selection alone does not determine cleaning, rheology, clarity, stability or commercial suitability.
Surfactant & Micelle Architecture
Evaluation of anionic, amphoteric and non-ionic surfactant combinations; active-matter balance; micellar structuring; electrolyte response; foam behaviour; detergency requirements; and ingredient–process interactions.
Rheology & Flow Behaviour
Investigation of viscosity development, salt curves, delayed thickening, thinning, over-structuring, spoon-gel behaviour, poor dispensing and batch-to-batch inconsistency. Viscosity is considered together with flow, recovery, application and consumer-use behaviour.
Clarity, Perfume Compatibility & Stability
Assessment of solubilisation, haze, phase separation, perfume effects, colour change, preservative compatibility and storage behaviour. Stability conclusions are made only from the testing actually completed.
pH, Water Quality & Process Control
Review of pH-dependent behaviour, neutralisation, water hardness, raw-material variability, sequence of addition, mixing conditions and temperature-related effects that can alter the final product.
Cost–Performance Optimisation
Reduction of unnecessary cost through active-basis calculations, functional ingredient selection and controlled trials—without assuming that simply reducing LABSA, SLES or another major raw material will preserve performance.
Scale-Up, SOP & QC Architecture
Translation of laboratory learning into a defined manufacturing sequence, in-process checks, raw-material controls, finished-product specifications and pilot or production guidance within the agreed engagement.
