Chemistry Expertise Applied to Commercial
Formulation Performance
I am Dr. K. Arun Kumar, Ph.D. in Chemistry, Founder of Banu Formulations and a Formulation Performance Architect specialising in Home & Cleaning Care Systems.
My work focuses on designing, diagnosing and improving liquid surfactant systems for cleaning-product manufacturers and serious start-ups. I combine chemistry, quality-control discipline, laboratory formulation work and structured technical documentation to address commercial formulation problems.
Professional Background
I bring 15 years of teaching experience, seven years of quality-control and industrial experience, and more than 25 research publications. My academic and industrial background has shaped a methodical approach to formulation: define the target, control the variables, document the observations and distinguish evidence from assumption.
Current Technical Focus
• Surfactant and micelle architecture
• Rheology, viscosity and salt response
• Clarity, stability and perfume compatibility
• pH–viscosity behaviour
• Cleaning and foam performance
• Raw-material and process interactions
• Scale-up, SOP and QC systems
• Cost–performance optimisation
My Approach
A successful formulation is not defined by thickness alone or by the presence of familiar ingredients. It must be evaluated as a complete system that includes raw-material grade, active matter, sequence, pH, water quality, rheology, cleaning, foam, clarity, preservation, stability, packaging, cost and manufacturability.
I use controlled small-batch trials and structured formulation studies to generate practical learning. A sample is not described as verified, stable, optimised or commercially ready unless the relevant evidence supports that conclusion.
Banu Formulations
Through Banu Formulations, Chennai, I provide diagnostic consultation, troubleshooting, custom product development, scale-up and documentation guidance, advanced one-to-one practical training, and selected technical formula resources.
Professional Mission
To help Indian manufacturers build stronger cleaning-product systems through scientific reasoning, documented development and commercially practical formulation architecture.
