Custom Product Development

Develop a Product Around Defined Commercial and
Technical Targets

Custom product development is suitable when an existing ready-made formula cannot adequately address your required performance, cost, positioning, raw-material, regulatory, packaging or manufacturing conditions.

Suitable Requirements

• A new cleaning or liquid surfactant product

• A benchmark-oriented performance target
• A defined cost and market-positioning requirement
• A product using restricted or preferred raw materials
• A reformulation caused by raw-material or supply changes
• A product intended for pilot or commercial scale-up
• A multi-product platform requiring a phased development plan

Development Framework

1. Technical Brief

Product category, use condition, target customer, benchmark, cost target, batch size, available equipment, materials and required claims are defined.

2. Feasibility & Scope

The technical challenge, exclusions, expected trials, deliverables, responsibilities, timeline and fee are documented in a proposal.

3. Laboratory Development

Controlled small-batch trials are designed to study the relevant formulation variables. Observations are recorded against the agreed criteria.

4. Review & Refinement

Promising directions are compared for performance, flow, pH, clarity, foam, cost and short-term stability indicators as applicable.

5. Documentation & Scale-Up Direction

The agreed output may include a final formula, manufacturing method, SOP, QC specifications,

raw-material guidance and pilot-scale support, depending on scope.

6. Validation Responsibility

Commercial manufacture, statutory compliance, packaging compatibility, extended stability and third-party claims testing must be completed as applicable before market release.

Possible Deliverables

• Custom formulation and controlled trial direction
• Manufacturing process and sequence of addition
• Raw-material function and specification guidance
• In-process and finished-product QC criteria
• Cost calculation or cost–performance review
• Pilot and commercial scale-up guidance
• Stability-study plan and observation format
• Technical review of agreed trial batches

Only the deliverables explicitly listed in the accepted proposal are included.

Professional Fee

Custom development engagements generally begin from ₹50,000 and may extend to ₹2,00,000 or more, depending on product category, technical risk, benchmark target, number of iterations, documentation, testing and scale-up support.
